For Marketing Agency Owners ·
What you'll accomplish
Pitch prep research usually means a browser with fifteen tabs open, half of them the prospect's competitors, half of them abandoned halfway through. After this setup, you ask one tool a direct question and get a sourced answer in a couple of minutes, with links you can actually click to verify what it told you.
What you'll need
What you should see: A single search box, similar to a search engine homepage but with a chat-style input. Troubleshooting: If sign-up stalls, try a different browser; some ad blockers interfere with the sign-in flow.
What you should see: A response with numbered citations inline, each linking out to the original source. Troubleshooting: If you're not sure which mode you're using, deeper modes generally show a visible "thinking" or "searching" step before the answer appears; a quick mode returns almost instantly.
What you should see: A written answer several paragraphs long, broken into sections, with citation numbers you can click to jump to the source page. Troubleshooting: If the answer feels thin or generic, add more specifics to your question. "Tell me about Acme Co" produces a weaker answer than "What does Acme Co sell, who is their target customer, and what marketing channels do they appear to use based on their website and social presence."
What you should see: A dedicated page for that prospect with all related searches grouped underneath it. Troubleshooting: If Spaces isn't visible, it may be under a different label depending on your account tier; check the sidebar's full menu rather than just the default view.
Quick competitor scan before a pitch:
Who are the top competitors to [Company Name] in [city/region], and what
marketing channels does each one appear to use most heavily based on
their public presence?
Industry trend context for a pitch deck:
What are the current marketing trends in the [industry] space in 2026 that
a small agency pitch could reference to show up-to-date knowledge?
Check a specific claim before repeating it in a pitch:
Is it accurate that [specific claim about the industry or prospect]? Show
me the sources you're basing that on.
Prep a discovery-call question list:
Based on what you found about [Company Name], suggest three discovery
questions I should ask that show I've already done research, rather than
generic questions any agency would ask.
